Buckeyes finish 3-1 at Nutty Invite

The Buckeyes travelled to University of Cincinnati for the 15th annual Nutty Invite tournament.

The Buckeyes looked to defeat the Ann Arbor Masters team in their first matchup since October. Ohio State had to knock off some serious rust, falling 7-2 early in the first half. Rallying back to a 7-7 game near halftime, the Buckeyes looked for more. Late into the fourth quarter, OSU found themselves down 2 and could not rally back, losing to Ann Arbor 13-11

Next game came against the Beached Whales out of Illinois, the first meeting between the two teams in history. Falling down 5-1 early, an aggressive OSU comeback throughout the game tied it at 12-12 at the end of regulation. In 2OT, Wil Borchers scored in sudden death, giving Ohio State the victory 13-12.

Sunday morning, Ohio State faced Cleveland Masters and won by a considerable margin, setting up their final game of the weekend.

Ohio State rallied early in their final game of the weekend, leading 5-1 after the first quarter against the Nashville Masters team. Never giving up their lead, the Buckeyes faced a strong offensive attack, but held on to win their final game 10-8.

Overall, a successful and fun weekend tournament down in Cincinnati! We are looking forward to our home tournament March 23-24, at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion!
