Our coaching staff is dedicated to the success of the team in and out of the pool.
James Dauphinee, Head Coach
James began coaching the Buckeyes in 2010 and has been a major factor in the recent success and growth of the team. He was named CWPA Great Lakes Division Coach of the year in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017. His tenure with the Buckeyes includes multiple tournament championships, four CWPA Great Lakes Division championships (2013, 2014, 2017, and 2018), an 11th place finish at the 2013 CWPA Collegiate Club National Championship, a 5th place finish at the 2014 CWPA Collegiate Club National Championship, and a 6th place finish at the 2017 CWPA Collegiate Club National Championship. James played collegiately at UC-Davis.
Selnur Erdal, Assistant Coach
Selnur Erdal doubles as assistant coach and faculty advisor for the Buckeyes. Always eager to help out at every practice, Selnur is an invaluable asset to the team. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Selnur brings many years of experience from playing overseas, as well as experience from his playing days at The Ohio State University.
Ben McClurg, Assistant Coach
Ben McClurg joins the coaching staff after graduating from The Ohio State University in May 2016. Having been around since Ohio State's first season in the CWPA, he's been around for a lot of growth of the team. As a coach, he has helped guide the team to the 2017 and 2018 CWPA Great Lakes Division championships. He was acting head coach for a 6th place finish at the 2017 CWPA Collegiate Club National Championship. As a player, he was the 2014 Great Lakes division MVP, a 4x 1st-Team All Conference selection, a 2x All-American, and helped the team win the 2013 and 2014 CWPA Great Lakes Division championships. He hopes to help continue the success of the Buckeyes, this time from the sidelines.
